Why are all my triops so shiny? Is it something in the water, the lighting? Any thoughts?
From: Admin @ 77.100.213.159 (Sun 21 Jun 2009 11:13:27 BST)
This species has a shiny carapace. You need to try Triops cancriformis, they have a mottled carapace.

Please se my cancriformis,it's one of the shiniest.

I posted this photo because you can see some eggs in the substrate, they're red.

Your right ,I wish Icould find some smaller sand.I'm afraid to use the sand from the creek behind the house, how could I sterilize it? The color and grain is perfect, should I try it?

In case anyone is interested, I was able to find them on Ebay and AquaBid. I've never owned any myself, but they do look pretty cool.
